Abstract

Objectives : This study was conducted to explore the factors associated with adolescent females¢¥ sexual behavior.
Methods : The subjects were 627 female adolescent who were selected from two middle, and four high schools in Gyungnam province. A self-administerd questionnaire was administered about personal background characteristics, communication with parents for sex, sexual attitude of friend group, self-esteem, self control, contraception knowledge, sexual attitude, sexual knowledge scale. A total of 627 excluding incomplete cases was analyzed using multiple logistic analysis.
Results : In univariate analysis, Sexual experience among female adolescents were significantly associated with school type (¥ö©÷=20.80, p ≶ O.OOl), cigarette use (¥ö©÷=183.53, p ≶ 0.00l), alcohol use (¥ö©÷=15.73, p ≶ O.OOl), sexual attitudes of peer group (t= -7.54, p ≶ 0.001), self-esteem (t=2.05. p=0.041), self control (t=2.77, p=0.006). In Multiple logistic regression analysis, academic high school (or=0.14, ci=0.04-0.50), smoking(or=19.15, ci=8.04-45.61), sexual attitude of friends (or= 1.28, ci=1.l5-1.43) were significantly the strongest and the most influential factors associated with adolescent sexual esperience.
Conclusions : This study can offer understanding for the comprehensive multivariate covariance relationship of the influencing factors associated with female adolescents¢¥s sexual behavior. The results of this study provide health professionals with information to development more-effective sex education programs.
